She has been a member of the National Honor Society since elementary school and a member of the National BETA club since middle school. She is a member of FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America). This experience has allowed her to travel to DC every year to compete in the state competition and for the past 4 years, she has traveled across the country to compete in the national competition. They have traveled to Chicago, Atlanta, Orlando, and this summer they will travel to Anahiem. Jordyn has danced at the Contemporary School of Dance for 15 years. She has participated in everything that Carol has offered: ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, baton, and cheer. She is also a multi-athlete. She plays volleyball and softball. She plays school ball and travel ball with TopHand foundation. Her position is centerfield. Jordyn received offers from many schools to play Softball, but she accepted the offer to play for North Carolina Wesleyan University in Rocky Mount, NC. She will attend there in the fall and major in exercise science with the goal of receiving her masters and doctorate to become a physical therapist.
Jordyn has loved the opportunity to dance for all these years at CSD. She has been very dedicated juggling dance volleyball and softball, many times coming to dance straight from a game in her softball uniform. She and Meredith Belcher attended dance conventions in Portsmouth for a few years and were even able to compete with a Tap Dance. Jordyn has formed so many lifelong bonds through dance. Not just with her friends, but with her teachers as well. Jordyn is sweet, kind and has a heart of gold and is a friend to everyone she meets. Jordyn will miss everyone dearly but looks forward to returning to watch future recitals. She would like to thank all the teachers who molded her into the dancer that she has become starting with the dearly departed Mrs. Donna, may she RIP, Mrs. Carol, Mrs. Elaine, Ms. Morgan, and Ms. Caitlin. Thank you all for all that you have done. It has meant so much.
